I'm constantly honing my style, thinking of new shot ideas, and learning new techniques so that I can bring a fresh and personalized look to each person I work with. My style is a culmination of my background in art and design as well as inspiration from fashion, product design, fellow photographers, and everyday life. My goal is to capture my clients in a natural, yet stylish way that is most flattering to them and that highlights their personalities. SERVICE You can't beat it! EQUIPMENT I use professional equipment: Canon 5D camera body Canon 40D backup camera body Two 580 EXII flashes Canon L Series Professional Lenses ranging from 16mm to 200 mm, collectively This equipment is a serious investment that only a serious photographer makes. With the advent of digital photography, many people have a digital camera. I have heard too many sad stories of a sister-in-law, uncle, aunt, or friend with a digital camera photographing a couple's wedding and have been very dissapointed. A "nice " camera does not necessarily make nice images. A professional photographer with experience, training, and style makes great images. Only experience and training give a photographer the edge to understand and anticipate the flow of a wedding day and produce technically sound photographs. ARTISTRY I graduated with my Bacholor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography from the University of Utah in 2000, where there was a strong emphasis on photography as art. I come to the field of wedding photography and portraiture with a strong background in art. I grew up drawing and painting all the time and come from a family of artists. In college I discovered my favorite medium, photography. With my art background, I bring style and composition to my photographs. My clients don't just receive posed photos with big grins, but creative, yet timeless pieces of art.
